Isabella McDonald - Co-President

Isabella is a senior from Brooklyn, New York concentrating in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. In the past, Isabella has interned at Hull Street Energy, a firm that invests in power companies that are positioned for growth as the North American grid transitions to a more sustainable footprint. In her free time, Isabella enjoys doing New York Times crossword puzzles, listening to podcasts, and running outdoors.

Zoe Kemper - Co-President

Zoe is a senior from Westerly, Rhode Island, who is concentrating in Applied Mathematics and Economics. She developed her interest in sustainable finance due to her living and educational experiences in the US, Peru, China and the Netherlands. She is eager to figure out how to drive sustainable economic growth in mature and emerging economies. She started at FSIcon with the Speaker team and is in her second year as Co-President. Beyond FSIcon, at Brown, she is a teaching assistant for a course on the intersection of finance and the environment. She spent last summer interning in Investment Banking and the summer before that in Private Wealth Management. In her free time, Zoe can be found running, in the ocean or mountains, or trying new restaurants.

Phoebe Moustaka - Co-President

Phoebe is a junior from Athens, Greece and Medellin, Colombia, who is concentrating in Economics and Public Health. She developed her interest in sustainable finance due to her international background and passion of using finance as a means to address climate change, driving change from within the system. She started at FSIcon with the Strategy team and is in her first year as Co-President. At Brown, she is involved in the Sustainable Food Initiative and the Hellenic Association. She spent last summer developing the ESG framework of a Private Equity firm in Greece. In her free time, Phoebe enjoys exploring new restaurants, cooking and going to Lagree.

SPEAKER RELATIONS

Nathaniel Russo - Co-Lead

Nathaniel is a freshman from New York City planning to concentrate in Environmental Studies and Economics. At Brown, he is involved with the ESG focused investment club SRIF, the Brown Dems Environmental Caucus, and is a volunteer with the campus-based local food distribution program Brown Market Shares. Nathaniel spent last summer interning with the business development team at Brightcore Energy, a clean energy company with a focus in providing geothermal solutions. In his free time, Nathaniel can be found cooking or baking with friends, exploring theater in Providence and Boston, and finding the best apple picking spots in New England.

Jerry Lu - Co-Lead

Jerry is a junior from Taiwan concentrating in Computer Science and Economics. At Brown, he works at the campus center as an evening manager and is part of letsift.com, a B-Lab startup streamlining secondhand shopping. During his free time, Jerry loves running pickup basketball at the OMAC and taking down food challenges with friends.

 

Brian Thompson - Advisor

Brian is a Senior concentrating in Economics and Urban Studies from New Jersey. Outside of FSIcon, he has been involved on campus through his former roles as a Team Director for the Brown Entrepreneurship Program, Teaching Assistant for ENGN 0090, and Meiklejohn Peer Advisor. He spent the past summer working in private equity, and will continue pursuing work in the financial services next summer. He developed his interest in sustainable finance through his range of experiences at Brown, and is particularly passionate about real estate and the built environment. In his free time, Brian can be found at his favorite coffee spots, trying out new restaurants, or finding new galleries and museums to explore.

Bella Pitman

Bella is a junior from New York City concentrating in Environmental Science and Economics. Passionate about the water sector, she worked with the PE firm Sciens Water over the summer and continues to find linkages bewteen water and the financial world. Outside of academics she is a Brown Outing Club leader, a member of the Womens Ultimate Frisbee team, and mentors Freshmen as a Meiklejohn.

 

Grace Yang

Grace is a first-year from Cupertino, CA concentrating in Applied Mathematics. On campus, she is involved with Brown Technology Consulting Group, the Socially Responsible Investment Fund, and the Club Volleyball Team. In her free time, Grace enjoys stargazing, watching football, running, and exploring new restaurants.

Naemi Ditiatkovsky

Naemi (she/they) is a junior from Berlin, Germany concentrating in Environmental Science and Computer Science. She is interested in leveraging the tools of sustainable finance and data science for sustainable buildings and cities. This past summer she worked at a Start-Up spearheading sustainability/ESG data management of Real Estate Portfolios for Asset Managers. Naemi is currently a teaching assistant for “Sustainable Design in the Built Environment” as well as “Finance and the Environment” in the Spring semester. On campus she is also the Co-Chair of Better World x Design and the Co-President of the Brown Renewable Energy and Sustainability Society. In her free time, Naemi enjoys cooking with friends, sunbathing in parks, or reading about design.

 

Fergus Bolton

Fergus is a sophomore from Edinburgh, Scotland, concentrating in International and Public Affairs. At Brown, he is a consultant analyst for Global Research and Consulting Group and is heavily involved in the music scene, participating in anything from A cappella to operas. Fergus’s interest in sustainable finance started when he learned about impact investment and has grown. In his free time, you will find Fergus spending time with friends or singing.

Olivia Tingley-Kelley

Olivia is a sophomore from Philadelphia, PA studying Business Economics and Environmental Studies. She has an interest in sustainable fashion business, which she pursues through the Fashion @ Brown business team. Outside of academic pursuits, she is a member of the varsity women's rowing team, and you can find her listening to music on the main green in her free time.

 

Vivian Chiu

Vivian (she/her) is a freshman from Taiwan concentrating in CS-Econ. On campus, she serves as a project member for the Brown Consulting Club and a healthcare analyst for the Socially Responsible Investment Fund. In her free time, she likes to read and explore a variety of tea flavors.

 
 

Corporate Relations

Maddie Verity - Co-Lead

Maddie is a senior from Natick, Massachusetts, concentrating in International and Public Affairs (Development Track) and History of Natural Resources Management. On and off campus, she is interested in energy markets and renewable energy development. In summer 2022, she worked on the Origination and M&A teams for Nautilus Solar, a utility-scale renewable financier and owner-operator, and also pursued self-designed research on energy transition economies in the American Southwest as a Guiliano Fellow. On campus, she is a Section Head for the Brown Journal of World Affairs and Research Assistant at the Climate and Development Lab. In her free time, you can find Maddie drinking Diet Coke and lifting weights at the campus gym.

Leon Melas - Co-Lead

Born and raised in Greece, Leon pursued an academic and professional journey at Brown, where he embraced an open curriculum with a focus on Economics and a deep interest in sustainability. During the pandemic, Leon served as a Lance Corporal in the Hellenic Armed Forces, where he did media and communications for the Greek Ministry of Defense. His finance career began at Sciens Capital Management in New York in 2022, concentrating on sustainable investment in the water utilities and real assets sectors. The following year, he interned at Goldman Sachs, and worked on projects in education-technology and healthcare-technology. Beyond his professional endeavors, Leon is passionate about the environment and enjoys Formula 1 and go-karting.

 

Tiffany Zhang

Tiffany is a junior from Seattle, Washington concentrating in Economics on the Public Policy track. On campus, she is an active member of Bruno Finance Society, WIB, and the Socially Responsible Investment Fund. Next summer, Tiffany will intern at Raymond James in their consumer retail department. In her free time, she can be found trying coffee shops all around Providence and reading.

Samantha Sinesky

Samantha is a junior from New York City studying International and Public Affairs. She is passionate about bringing government, along with the global and financial community together to find ways to save our planet in a responsible and profitable way. Last summer, she followed up in her interest in finding sound solutions to our environmental challenges by interning at an Israeli startup company, ECOncrete. At Brown, she is currently fully committed to increasing her socially conscious participation by being a part of the business team at the Brown Daily Herald, the TAMID Group and the Women Empowerment team of Brown EP. While not saving the   planet, you can find Samantha on the hunt for the best matcha latte in Providence.

 

Jing Jing Yang

Jing Jing is a junior from Beijing, China concentrating in Economics and Behavioral Decision Sciences. After her freshman year, she spent two years on leave interning at various financial institutions and tech companies, and is currently working on her own startup. During her free time, she enjoys playing golf and badminton, citywalking, and cooking.

Olivia Castel

Olivia is a junior from Chevy Chase, Maryland, concentrating in Applied Mathematics and International and Public Affairs. She became interested in sustainable investing after hosting panels about the global impacts of fast fashion throughout high school. On campus, she is on the events team for the Brown Art Review, an analyst for the Brown Consulting Club, and a member of Brown Circle of Women. In her free time, you can find Olivia in a coffee shop with friends or exploring art museums.

 

Tina Li

Tina is a sophomore from Longmeadow, Massachusetts studying Applied Mathematics-Economics and East Asian Studies. She became interested in the energy sector through an internship at ISO New England where she analyzed the region's renewable energy generation. At Brown, Tina is also involved with Meiklejohn Peer Advising, Women in Business, and the Chinese Students Association. In her free time, you can find Tina grabbing Aroma Joe's, swimming at the Nelson, or creating new playlists.

Lila Nottage

Lila is a sophomore from Nassau, Bahamas concentrating in Business Economics and Environmental Studies. She is on the Women’s Varsity Crew Team and a member of Brown Women in Business and the Brown Socially Responsible Investment Fund. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and listening to music.

 

Mehmet Alpacar

Mehmet is a frehsman from Istanbul, Turkey concentrating in Economics and Applied Mathematics. His interest and experience in sustainable investing led him to join FSIcon. During his free time, he likes to explore new cafes and try new things, and also binge watch TV series.

Abigail Berman

Abby is a freshman from New York City concentrating in Environmental Science. Previously, she served as the Fundraising Director for The Jewish Youth Climate Movement where she ran grassroots fundraising campaigns. At Brown, Abby is involved with Brown RISD Hillel and Women in Science and Engineering. In her free time, she is often cooking or exploring Providence.

 

Strategy And Operations

Kelly Jeong - Co-Lead

Kelly (she/her) is a sophomore from Duluth, Georgia planning to concentrate in Applied Math - Economics and CS, and joined FSIcon wanting to bring discussions about ethics to the business and technological fields. On campus, she is involved in various activities such as the Intercollegiate Finance Journal, Collegiate Consulting Group, and Hack@Brown. In her free time, she likes to draw, play violin, and solve Sudoku puzzles.

Mia Reiland - Co-Lead

Mia (she/her) is a junior from Brooklyn concentrating in Urban Studies and Applied Mathematics. Before coming to Brown, she worked with Legal Aid of Northwest Texas' Environmental Justice and Affordable Housing team. At Brown, she is involved with the Socially Responsible Investment Fund and the Brown Running Club. In her free time, she can be found charcoal drawing and drinking tea.

 

Charlie Olcott

Charlie is a sophomore from California studying Computer Engineering. Having studied Environmental Science in high school, he developed enthusiasm for sustainable investing, which he looks to learn more about through FSIcon. Charlie is a tennis player and has been on two service trips to Tijuana Mexico to build houses for the less fortunate. Outside of FSIcon, Charlie is the president of Delta Phi Fraternity and looking to start Club Pickleball at Brown. You can find him playing spikeball and frisbee on the main green or on a court playing whatever racket sport he can find.

Duru Huseyni

Duru is a Freshman from Izmir, Turkey, concentrating in computer science and economics. At Brown, she is involved in sustainable investment, fashion at Brown, and consulting. In her free time, she likes to discover new places to eat around Providence, or practice her ballet skills.

 

Jean Luc Depardieu

Jean-Luc is a Freshman from Easton, Connecticut concentrating in Physics and Economics. He is passionate about preserving and protecting the environment as all activities he loves are outdoors! He participated in many beach cleanups throughout high school and later ran volunteer organizations. Sustainable investing particularly caught his interest as he enjoys quantitative reasoning and economics in the classroom, which can be applied in sustainable finance to help better our world. In his free time, Jean-Luc will either be sailing, surfing, playing guitar or enjoying a concert.

Tiffany Kuo

Tiffany Kuo is a sophomore from Taiwan studying English and Business Economics. This past summer, she interned for Vital Voices Global Partnership, a nonprofit aiming to provide leadership development programs for women leaders around the world. At Brown, she volunteers for Brown Tutoring Corps and is part of Women in Business. During her free time, you can find her soaking up sunshine on the main green, reading at a library, or lifting at the gym.

 

Marketing

Elli Vasileiou - Co-Lead

Ellie is a sophomore from Athens, Greece, studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Economics. At Brown, she’s a TA for CLPS classes and a member of the Hellenic Student Association and Sustainable Food Initiative. The past summer, she was an analyst at McKinsey, working with a team of consultants on an ESG project for a Financial Institution in Greece. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, skiing, and writing poetry.

Margo Donohue - Co-Lead

Margo is a sophomore from New Jersey concentrating in Environmental Studies (Inequality) and IAPA. Having first experienced environmental inequities while conducting marine science research in 2019, Margo has since developed her passion for environmental justice, sustainable investing, and law as means for alleviating structural inequalities. On campus, Margo mentors elementary school students through BEAM, and plays on Brown’s Club Lacrosse Team. In her free time, you can find her in the ocean, or on land exploring bookshops and searching for the best cappuccino in Providence.

 

Tessa Tomkinson

Tessa is a sophomore from the San Francisco Bay Area concentrating in Environmental Science: Sustainability in Development. She serves on the Advisory Committee for University Resource Management, working to ensure that Brown upholds ethical and sustainable investment practices. Tessa is also a member of the Women’s Varsity Crew Team, and outside of rowing, she enjoys hiking and trivia.

Mimi Tarantelli

Mimi is a Sophomore from London, England double concentrating in History and Economics. She is also on the Special Events team of the Brown Entrepreneurship Programme and also volunteers at the Providence Women and Children’s shelter. In her free time, Mimi can be found either trying to cook something new or running.

 

Sofia Benedetti

Sofia is a sophomore from São Paulo, Brazil concentrating in Economics and History. At Brown, she is involved in the Brown Political Review business board, Sustainable Food Initiative, Fashion@Brown design team and
economics tutoring at the Sheridan Center. She spent her last summer interning at Nova Futura Investimentos, an independent brokerage firm in São Paulo. In her free time, Sofia likes to explore new restaurants, go to the gym and hangout with her friends.

Tommy Nguyen

Tommy (he/him) is a freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan planning to concentrate in Computer Science and International Relations, and joined FSIcon wanting to explore the intersection of environmental justice and sustainable investing. On campus, he is involved in various activities such as the Vietnamese Student Association, Bonner Community Fellow, Student in Real Estate, and Fashion@Brown. In his free time, he likes to watch Korean dramas, make origami, and hang out with friends.

 

Zoe Moustaka

Zoe is a freshman from Athens, Greece and Medellin, Colombia. She is planning on concentrating in Biomedical Engineering. At Brown, she is involved in the Sustainable Food Initiative. In her free time, you can find her at Joe’s, discovering coffee shops and exploring different parks in Providence.
